ACPC APPROVED AS NATIONAL RECIPIENT ORGANIZATION FOR THE UNITED WAY COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN
Richard Wiermanski, past President of the Council, urges federal employees who are committed to preserving the cultural values of their heritage to designate the American Council for Polish Culture #2902 when making their annual pledges. Federal employees, their families and friends are encouraged to urge other federal workers to do likewise.
The American Council for Polish Culture is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation serviced entirely by unpaid volunteers. Together with its affiliate and supporting organizations and individual members, the Council is dedicated to fostering public awareness and appreciation for the rich cultural contributions to American Society by Poles and Polish Americans. A primary emphasis is upon the education of Polish American youths. The Council administers three annual scholarship programs, literary, art and music awards and promotes books, lectures, concerts and exhibits. Weeklong Youth Leadership programs in Washington DC where young Polish Americans meet with national Polish American leaders in government, business and education have been highly successful. The Council chairs a consortium of leading Polonian organizations to present a staffed exhibit at the annual National Conference for Social Studies that attracts thousands of schoolteachers.
Polish American federal employees who are proud of their Polish heritage have a unique opportunity to materially boost the Council's efforts in promoting that great heritage by designating the American Council for Polish Culture #2902 during the 2003 Combined Federal Campaign.
