This year, 2008, the American Council for Polish Culture is celebrating its 60th Anniversary. The occasion has led the Council to research enthusiastically it's numerous cultural projects and activities of the past. The archives are replete with accounts by the Council and its Affiliate and Supporting Organizations of cultural and educational programs, i.e., lectures, exhibits, concerts, workshops, folk-dancing, scholarships, and the like, all emphasizing our rich Polish cultural heritage, in communities, as well as on regional, state and national levels.

The Council and its Affiliates strive vigorously to attract more young people into their organizations. The Council has established a Youth Leadership Conference program for high school seniors and college students, led by a talented scholar, Dr. Maria Chrypinski, that has proven to be highly successful. To insure the perpetuity of this proven program, the Council has set up a goal for an endowment fund. If you would like to help the Council achieve this goal or to support some of our other cultural programs, such as the ACPC Scholarship Awards, Literary Competition, National Polonia Cultural Registry or other important projects, please call or write to the address below.

Options you may wish to consider for supporting the Council's programs through charitable gifts include:

1. Direct contribution in the form of a check or money order. Under current law, if you itemize on your return, all such gifts may be deductible from federal income taxes.

2. If you have a car, boat, or a piece of property (land, house, summer cottage) that you wish to donate, the Council will provide you with the necessary receipt for federal income tax purposes as we are a non-profit corporation holding 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS.

3. Establish a scholarship fund or an endowment in your name or that of a family member.

4. After you have provided for your loved ones, please remember the American Council for Polish Culture in your will or living trust.

Please share today with a charitable gift in the vision and passion of the American Council for Polish Culture for a true Polish cultural legacy to be left to the Polish American children of today and tomorrow. For further information and assistance in this regard, please contact:

NOTE:

Usually donations to ACPC for the various projects are sent to the Treasurer, Greg Biestek, with a note in the legend specifying which project. However, in the case of the Youth Leadership Conference, since there have been so many budgetary issues, there's a special committee set up to help with the finances. So, I would say that donations for the Youth Leadership Conference should still be made payable to ACPC, with a note in the legend indicating that it's for "YLC", but the checks should be forwarded to:

Mr. Richard Wiermanski
162 Colony Crossing
Edgewater, MD 21037-2758

In the case of the Pulaski Scholarship those donations should go to:

Mr. Marion Winters
51 Camile Road
Webster, MA 01570

In the worst case, if Greg Biestek, the treasurer, gets it, I'm sure it would still get to the right project, altho' sometimes he deposits into the general fund. So don't forget to put a note on your check "memo" space. Many thanks! Greg's address:
